Black Eagle Consulting, Inc. has just been awarded a contract from Reynolds, Smith & Hills, Inc. to perform a geotechnical investigation for the proposed runway safety improvement project at the Reno-Stead Airport in Reno-Stead, Nevada. This project will involve the design and, ultimately, the construction of runway safety improvements that will include extending Runway 8 and the associated Taxiway “A” approximately 575 lineal feet to the west and relocating the existing service road in this area to the south.
The service road near the end of Runway 26 will also be relocated. Associated lighting and marking details will also be constructed as a part of this project. Design is scheduled to proceed in February 2009.
