The purpose of the Nick Poulakidas Elementary School which was built in the South Meadows area is to relieve overcrowding at surrounding elementary schools and provide capacity for this high-growth area. The elementary school is a new two-story building that was funded by tax money from WC-1.
The building provides group learning spaces to give teachers the opportunity to introduce a different style of learning. In 2016, BEC provided research, field exploration, field and laboratory testing, and engineering analysis to develop geotechnical recommendations for design and construction of this project. Black Eagle Consulting, Inc. performed all 1704 special inspections during construction of this CMAR project, including earthwork, site utilities, site and building concrete, structural masonry, structural steel, fireproofing, site paving, and laboratory materials testing.
